Manuel Alcarazo is Professor for Organic Synthesis at the University of Göttingen since 2015. He received his doctoral degree from the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain) in 2005, having worked under the supervision of Profs. Rosario Fernández and José M. Lassaletta. Following a postdoctoral stint with Professor Alois Fürstner at the MPI für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr (Germany), he began his independent research career in 2009 at the same institution. His research interests are focused on the areas of homogeneous (asymmetric) catalysis, and the applications of main group chemistry into organic synthesis.
