Antonella Capperucci received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Florence (Italy) in 1989 working on the synthesis and the reactivity of thiocarbonyl compounds mediated by group 14 organometallic derivatives. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bordeaux (France, 1990-1991) and Toulouse (France, 1995). In 1997 she began her career at the University of Florence and was appointed Associate Professor in 2005. In 2021 she received a positive evaluation as Full Professor in Organic Chemistry. She served as Scientific secretary of ISOCS-24 (Florence, 2010) and Co-Chair of ISOCS-30 (Florence, 2024). Her research interests include the synthesis and selective functionalization of silylated heterocycles, the synthesis of chalcogenated organic derivatives (S, Se) and the study of their properties as novel antioxidant systems, as enzyme modulators and catalysts in redox reactions, including mechanistic aspects.
